About University

The National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” (KhAI), established in 1930, is a premier institution in Ukraine specializing in aviation and space engineering. Over its history, KhAI has been instrumental in advancing aerospace technology, including the development of Europe’s first high-speed aircraft with retractable landing gear and contributions to turbojet engine design.

The university offers a comprehensive range of programs across seven faculties and 40 departments, covering 38 specialties. With a student body of approximately 6,876 individuals, KhAI provides bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in fields such as Aircraft Engineering, Rocket and Space Engineering, and Aircraft Radio Electronic Systems.

KhAI boasts a distinguished faculty, including 98 doctors of science, and has produced over 110,000 graduates, many of whom have become leaders in the aerospace industry. The university maintains strong international collaborations and offers programs in both Ukrainian and English to accommodate a diverse student population.
